Seung Ryul Victor Lee's Design

I'm an experimental and futuristic designer with passion in product, graphic, and packaging design, who is obsessed with combining 2D and 3D through interdisciplinary methods. As a student with an emphasis in Visual Communication Design, I studied how to methodologically communicate ideas visually and linguistically with the public by connecting and visualizing an impactful design to the audience.

I believe an impactful design should offer consumers a memorable image and experience. To do so, analyzing the design from a consumer’s perspective is really important. I might consider and throw questions to myself such as whether this design is worth looking or purchasing in terms of cost-effectiveness, satisfying while using or reading this design, attractive enough to capture attention on this design and such. Experience then fix or remove any inconveniences ahead before reaching out to consumers is my process of designing.
My design philosophy or a definition of “design” is an act of looking for the most appropriate form of expression of an idea or product by recognizing its intrinsic use and appearance. Although it is important whether a design is aesthetically pleasing or how it is visually portrayed, a designer should not blur the nature of the product at hand. Therefore, I strive for human-centered and nature-centered design.

저는 어느 한쪽으로 치우치지 않고 2차원과 3차원적인 디자인을 병합해서 작업하는 것을 좋아하며, 제품•그래픽•패키징에 관심과 열정이 있는 실험적이고 미래지향적인 디자이너 입니다.

대중과의 시각적 소통에 대해 관심을 갖고 Visual Communication Design을 공부하였고, 어떻게 하면 다른 제품들과 비교했을 때 간단하면서도 임팩트있는 디자인을 만들 수 있을까 고민하고 여러 생각들을 연결하고 시각화 시킵니다.

임팩트있는 디자인은 소비자에게 기억될 수 있는 이미지나 경험을 주어야합니다. 그렇게 하기 위해서는 소비자의 입장이 되어 이 디자인을 볼만한 가치가 있고 가성비가 좋은지, 사용하거나 읽으면서 만족을 하는지, 이 디자인이 소비자층에게 충분한 이목을 끌었는지와 같은 질문들을 소비자층에게 소개되기 전에 불편함을 미리 경험해보고 해결하는것이 중요하다고 생각합니다.

예쁘게 디자인하고 어떻게 보여 지는지도 중요하지만, 제품의 본질을 흐려서는 안된다는 것이 저의 디자인 철학입니다.

디자인은 만물의 용도와 생김새에 대해 깨닫고 가장 타당한 형태를 찾아가는 행위라고 생각하기 때문에 기계보다는 인간중심의 디자인, 자연 중심적 디자인을 추구합니다.
